How do I choose a business?....There are so many....

When I evaluate a company, I look for these key points. Keep in mind, when I join a company, my #1 goal is to make money and to do it legitimately. I do not want to hurt anyone or rip anyone off. This is what I’ve learned and these guidelines will help you determine what company is right for you.
If you are not making at least 75% of the upfront commission when you make a sale, forget it. This means that you are doing all the work and the company and/or the person above you is making all the money.
If you have to have 1000, 10,000 or 20,000 people in your organization before you make any real money. DO NOT Join. Most people will NEVER get there.
If they teach you to hold home parties and invite all your friends. Run away fast.
If they have a sales pitch 2-3 times a day and only 2-3 training classes per week. This means that the company is more interested in selling you than training you how to make money long term
If you can’t break even or get into profit with 3 sales, forget it.
If you can’t speak with the owners or the corporate office via phone or webinar, Forget it. I like to know who I am doing business with before I will do business with them.
If it is a start up or in pre launch, forget. The chances of these companies becoming the next Amway is about as good as winning the lottery. At least with the lottery, you have a chance to win once or twice a week. You might as well go to Vegas and blow your money on a good time. At least you’ll have some great memories, see a great show and have a great meal.
These are not all the rules for success on the internet, but this is a great guideline to follow when evaluating an internet company. Use these guidelines to help you narrow down your choices for choosing a company that best fits yours goals.

vendor tent - done inexpensively

Question.

I can buy a vendor canopy tent for $50 - used but in good shape - good starter tent. However the iron rails that attach to the tent seem to be really expensive so I was thinking of using white (to match the tent cover) plastic trellis -- at least I believe that is what they are called. The large white {things} that cris cross in design and are used for vine climbers.

Has anyone tried this before?

Success in social media / Expanding visibility

I am a social media producer (a whole year and counting now!), and I produce a number of podcasts including Interviews. It features interviews with executives (Southwest Airlines, digg, Craigslist), entrepreneurs (Alex Tew, Kevin Rose), celebrities, etc. It has attracted a large audience of decision makers, executives, managers, high-end consumers, etc. Cisco Systems expressed sponsorship interest in 2006. The podcast has been covered by bloggers, websites, and newspapers.

More than 100,000 interviews have been downloaded to date. However, I am striving for a larger audience (I'd like to see 100K downloads a month, and eventually, millions), and I believe in my case, it can only happen via viral marketing or traditional advertising (Google AdWords, TechCrunch, etc.) Ultimately, the exposure will lead to the securing of lucrative sponsorship and ad deals in the tens of thousands each month.

The hard work is done. The brand is in place. The content is published. It simply needs to be marketed to make more people aware of it. Any ideas on expanding subscribers and increasing traffic? I've worked really hard attracting the "A-list" appearances, beating the mainstream media to exclusive interviews, etc. I'm ready to get out of the poor house, purchase some new equipment upgrades, and take this all to another level in social media.

Now you need to edit the PayPal referring URL (shown

The REAL "Pyramid Scheme"

Over the decades, with every network marketing company I' ve participated in, I've heard people ask, "Is this a Pyramid Scheme"?

This never ceases to amuse me, because 99% of these people are ALREADY LIVING IN A "PYRAMID SCHEME".

Basically, in a Pyramid Scheme, one or a few people on the "top" benefit from the work of everyone "below" them. And no matter how hard or intelligent these "bottom-dwellers" work, they can never attain the "top" position -or at best, can only do so by making it their life's agenda.

Does this sound eerily familiar to what you're already doing for work?
Do you have a boss?
If you do, does your work help their business prosper?
Is the possibility of your taking over their position conditional on their retirement, or other means of resignation (including death)?

Or do you work for a corporation?
If so, what would it take for you to become the CEO -or a board member?
Do you get to make the decisions on the policies at your work?

Regarding Network Marketing, or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), which are LEGAL business formats, it comes down to whether you connect with the products, the company vision, and have a vision for yourself where you're free to do the things you want in your life *when* you want to do them -and if you're willing to unplug from the "Matrix" -that system that is only interested in you making an elite few rich, with little or no prospect for you to ever have the kind of freedoms they enjoy.
